A New Community Orchard at the Tony Andrews Farm

In the spring of 2021, Farming Falmouth planted a pick-your-own community orchard on the town-owned Tony Andrews Farm. With the help of our fabulous volunteers we planted 120 young apple trees as well as a mix of other fruit trees like peaches, pears and plums. With help from the Falmouth Garden Club we planted the first of many flowering pollinator plants under the trees. The primary benefit of this community orchard will be educational,  showing gardeners how to grow and care for their own fruit trees and berry bushes. Later, as the plants mature, the Falmouth community will have the opportunity to pick their own fruit.  You can read more about the orchard here
